Blast from the past

While visiting my parents recently, I was rooting around in a cupboard full of old stuff of mine and found the original model building I blew up back in the 1980s (see this thread: http://mctoddanimates.blogspot.com/2008/11/first-steps.html).

Retrieving it and carting it back home, I thought I'd chuck some photos of it on here...

Nice model. "Killing without passion - a new ability" is a line from GWAR (band). Set in here: Blowing things up just for the sake of it". So I know it can get quite risky to play with fire (learned that the hard way...) and giving any advice how to blow up minisets with real explosives, and even if it's just a quarter fimble of black powder" might be more risky: Can you give us a hint, how this stuff is done. I found a lot of stuff about pyrothechnics and chemistry and stuff, but useful information about min-sets is kinda rare.
As said before: Real fire, real smoke. Not detonationfilms.com or any CGI nor any compressed air stuff. Fire. Thanks.

Peopleingorillasuits (cool name): I'll try and post more info on the blog on how I did that effect, though it might be a few days as I only have the interweb at work... Alternatively, drop me a line and I'll get back to you in private (rogerDOTtoddATgmailDOTcom)
